Interesting find

The all-new Official Trailer #2 for L.A. Noire, a dark crime thriller set amidst the corrupt and violent undercurrents of Hollywood's post-war Golden Age. L.A. Noire tells the story of WWII hero and aspiring young detective, Cole Phelps as he solves cases and climbs the ranks of the LAPD

I was intregued by this as it shows how the traditional genre of film noir

I was intrigued by this as it shows how the traditional genre of film noir - a crime drama is being modernised and filtered into today's society by a number of different ways, video games being one of them.
This is quite encouraging as it suggests the younger people of today are actually fascinated and entertained by this particular genre, and although this game is most likely to be far more violent than what 1940-50 noir films would have been, we believe the type of audience attracted to this game will also engage with our neo-noir film. We've tried to consider the modern day circumstances by breaking conventions through styling, shots and editing.
Neo-noir includes most elements of film noir but with updated themes, content, style, visual elements or media that were absent in films noir of the 1940s and 1950s.

In this specific scene of the trailer we can see the man holding a gun - this was a strong signifier used in most film noir, representing the man's power, he becomes threatening.

This one also shows the conventional characters in a film noir, the anti hero and femme fatale being intimate. The details are so exact even down to the lighting, the dark shadowing.
